What size container is right for my business?
Size matters when it comes to garbage. BVR Waste Management has many bin, dumpster and container options available to handle all your waste and recycling needs. We make it easy to have your facilities serviced so you can focus on running your business.
Front-load containers, bins and dumpsters are most often used for non-residential, business or commercial waste collection. You can arrange for one or more 2-,4-, 6- or 8-cubic-yard containers.
Front-load containers are good for office buildings, manufacturing plants and offices, distribution centers, apartments, multi-family properties and residential buildings, hotels, schools and universities, shopping centers, grocery stores, convenience stores, service stations, auto body shops, nail salons, hair and grooming salons, restaurants, lunch counters, delis, healthcare offices, urgent care locations, hospitals, health testing facilities and strip malls.
Where will the front-load dumpster be placed?
BVR will consult with you to identify a location(s) that is easily accessible for our trucks and drivers and safe for your customers and employees. A front-end load dumpster can typically be placed in a driveway or on the street. However, some restrictions may apply. For example, some municipalities have regulations about where a dumpster can be placed. In addition, the size of the dumpster may also dictate where it can be placed. For instance, a smaller dumpster may be able to fit in a driveway, while a larger dumpster may need to be placed on a street or parking lot. Make sure the place selected is away from any doors into the building.
How do I know if I need a front-load dumpster?
There are a few things to consider when determining whether you need a front-load dumpster or not. The type and amount of waste you have, the frequency of your pickups, and the size of your building are all critical factors.
If you have a lot of heavy materials like concrete or bricks, you'll need a roll-off dumpster instead of a front-load dumpster. The roll-off dumpster can handle the weight better than the front loaders. If you have a lot of space for a dumpster but not much waste, a front loader is the better option since they are less expensive to rent. If you have limited space, a front load is the best option for you since they're smaller compared to a roll-off dumpster.
The frequency of your pickups also influences deciding which type of dumpster to get. If you need weekly service, a front loader is best since they're designed for that level of use. If you only need it picked up once a month or so, then either type would work, but a roll-off dumpster might be more expensive in the long run.
Finally, consider the size of your building when deciding if a front-load dumpster is best for you. You'll need a front loader if you have a large office complex or factory since they can hold more waste. If you have a small retail store or restaurant, the front-load dumpster might be easier to maneuver around tight spaces.
Are there restrictions on what I can put into a front-load dumpster?
There are several restrictions on what can be placed inside a front-load dumpster. Most importantly, no hazardous materials are allowed! This includes anything flammable, corrosive, or toxic. Additionally, no electronics or appliances are to be placed in the dumpster. This is because these items often contain harmful chemicals and metals that can leak into the ground and contaminate soil and water resources. Finally, no construction debris is permitted in front-load dumpsters. This includes things like bricks, lumber, drywall, and concrete. For jobs such as that, we recommend a roll-off dumpster. Before rental, please inquire on a complete list of restricted items.
How often is my business trash picked up?
Business trash pickup is once per week, with additional days available by request. We make it easy to up-size your container or arrange for additional pickups based on the seasonality and peaks of your business.
What is a compactor?
A compactor is an electrically powered machine that reduces the size of waste material by pressing on it with significant force (compaction), thereby greatly reducing space needed for storage. BVR compactors are fully enclosed and range in size from 2 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards. The mechanical blade within the container compacts the loaded-in waste materials. Compactors are ideal for businesses that generate large amounts of waste or use significant quantities of recyclable materials.
Up-front costs for compactors are typically larger than that of roll-off dumpsters. However, over time, compactors yield savings by reducing trash pickup counts or recycling sell-offs. Compactors are often used by hospitals, distribution centers, manufacturing companies, industrial plants and recycling centers. Because of the internal blade, employee training is strongly recommended prior to installing a compactor.
