Washington County Recycling Center
At BVR Waste & Recycling, we’re proud to operate the Washington County Recycling Center, commonly referred to as “the transfer station,” right here in Brenham. This facility plays a crucial role in maintaining our community's cleanliness and sustainability.

Hours of Operation:
Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location:
2013 Old Chappell Hill Road
Brenham, TX 77833
What is the Transfer Station?
The recycling center serves as the primary drop-off point for curbside recycling materials collected from homes in the City of Brenham. Once collected, all recyclable materials are consolidated into one large container at this site and then transported to Bryan-College Station for sorting and processing.
But it’s more than just a hub for city recycling: the center is also open to all Washington County residents who need a place to responsibly recycle larger items or those not suitable for curbside bins. Whether you live outside city limits or simply have overflow recyclables, the drive-up service makes it easy and convenient to do your part.

Accepted Materials
We accept a wide variety of household recyclables, including:

-
Glass: Clear and brown glass bottles and jars
-
Plastic: #1 and #2 plastic bottles and containers
-
Paper: Newspapers, magazines, catalogues, white office paper, and bagged shredded paper
-
Metal: Aluminum, tin, and steel food and beverage cans
-
Cardboard & Paperboard: Must be broken down before drop-off
Good news: All recyclable materials may be mixed together—no sorting required.

Oversized Waste? We’ve Got You Covered.
In addition to recycling, the transfer station serves as the official Washington County dump site for oversized and bulky household waste items that cannot be collected at the curb. This includes furniture, appliances (excluding those with freon), and other large debris.
